
Maroulas is a village just 8 km away from the town of Rethymno on
the fabulous Mediterranean island of Crete , Greece .
Situated on the north side & almost
in the middle of the island, it's no more than an hour drive from the biggest
Cretan airports, cities, towns & sights.
A village with a quite long history dated from the ancient years,
around the Minoic era it flourished & blossomed during
the Venetian era. That is why most buildings that can be found in Maroulas
village today, are dated since the 18th-19th century.

During the Venetian years, there was a dozen of reach families that built 12 ports (doors - Megales Portes), two castles & other monuments of Maroulas.
Remainings of that period can be found at almost every street and corner of this traditional village.

Nowdays, about 250 people live and work in Maroulas. The small forest and
the crystal clear water of its river provide a great opportunity for relaxing,
get in touch with nature & yourself.
This Villa complex is unique for those who would like to taste the unspoilt
side of Crete , living in this village of the Venetian period. A car is considered
to be essential for exploring the whole island.
